Watch City Steampunk Festival 2025

The NextGen STEMFest is an event taking place at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation on the same day as the Watch City Steampunk Festival, and it is free to attend! Learn more at https://nextgenstemfest.org/

The inaugural NextGen STEMFest is a day-long community-focused STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) occurring on May 10th, 2025 at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in Waltham, MA. The festival hours is 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and is suitable for all ages! With funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) the NextGen STEMFest celebrates the 75th year that the NSF has played in incubating and supporting innovation and discovery that has changed and improved the lives of so many in the United States. At the NextGen STEMFest come let your curiosity wander with interactive learning activities and experiences from some of the worlds top STEM companies and University research labs. You will see and learn about regenerative medicine, new biotechnologies, hear from young people about their college STEM experiences, learn about physical computing, and more. You can sign up to learn how to use a laser, how to 3D print nearly anything, screen printing at Massachusetts’ only youth-led innovation maker-space, the Charles River Collaboratory located at the Charles River Museum of Industry of Innovation.

Have your photo taken as one of the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" monkeys, and tell people a little bit about yourself so we can see what an amazing community we have.

Waltham Food Not Bombs is a community group that rescues food that is still edible, but no longer suitable for grocery shelves and creates delicious, vegan food.  We provide this food for free to anyone that would like, or needs a good meal.  You can find us on Waltham Common every Sunday from 2-4 and indoors during the winter months.

Join  the Waltham Land Trust for an easy walk along the Charles from the Moody Street Dam downstream to the wildlife viewing platforms east of Newton Street and back. Members will share  their vast knowledge of the Mill and its environs as  we trek over the beautiful boardwalk along the river that passes by the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. After continuing under Elm Street on the paved pathway, we'll cross to the other side of the river and look for wildlife at various places before turning around and returning to the Watch City Steampunk Festival.
